Major Reisman

If I have not said it before one of my favorite movies of all time is The Dirty Dozen. I love this old WWII movie because it really shows triumph out of presumed defeat and chaos. It also has one of my favorite actors of all time Lee Marvin, who plays one of my favorite characters of all time Major Reisman. A though old salt dog who is rugged but also has a soft side, but knows what it takes to get the job done. So now your probably wondering why I'm telling you about this movie and this character well Major Reisman is the new name of our new Puppy. General Patton has been gone now for about 2 months he was taken from our house the last night of our honeymoon, we looked for weeks but could never find him. So after alot of nights being upset missing our little man, we got blessed for an early birthday present. Now we could not replace him but it is so cool to have a new little man in the house. I chose Major Reisman because he is a tough dude and I felt like we should keep the military history going in the family. I know that's pretty sad but he is pretty tough and he fights like a bear. Thanks Dad for the gift and hope everyone enjoys the pics. And if you have never seen the movie you should it's great. Check out the clip.

Job or Joseph????????

Amazing book everyone should read

I half to start out by saying that this has been a tough week, and if I'm really truthful a tough month for me as well. I find myself boiling in secrecy and hiding behind this screen I'm writing on now the feeling and thoughts in my heart. I don't know how else to say that I feel less of a man now than ever before, my desires and dreams, the ruggedness of my heart has all seemed to have been polished down to stones. Stones that if thrown in water would never ripple. I have been reading this book Wild at Heart and it is the picture perfect image of the man I wish I was and want to be. So much of me wonders what happened to the last 6 yrs of my life and why am I here wondering what to do know. Normally one would feel good graduating school, having God do great things while I was in the military but I feel forgotten now. I know I'm not but I feel like I've been put on the shelf. I would often hide these emotions and feeling s from the world but transparency is the best. God, am I a Joseph right now, or maybe a JOB. I wish I knew, because the Stallion in me that once ran free has now found the fenced in yard that no longer gives freedom and life. I now God is doing something but what I don't know. It is a battle I cannot understand and right now am finding it hard to fight!

I thought I would throw this in for a little humor. Notice the Security sign?

Use Whats In Your Hands

With all the desires in my Heart to go to Africa right now it's just not God's timing. I have to confess, I'm really jealous of all the Children's Cup Missionaries and HPC missionaries in Swaziland and Mozambique. I have been twice now and there is something about Africa that God has used to Capture my heart, the KIDS, the people, the land, everything. And as of late the more I think about the things God has placed in my heart Africa has been overwhelming my mind, my thoughts, my prayers. So what can I do? Well, I have been told by great leadership that if you give God your best with what is in your hands now, he will give you the desires of your heart. That's what God has been pressing on me, Barton you want to go so bad your thinking about it all the time, but what are you doing now, so I started to pray about it. Here is what God spoke to me, Your ART. Draw till you are blue in the face, draw everything you have seen, spread the images give back what I have given you. So that's what I'm going to do, pencil and Paper, paint and brushes and let God open the doors from there. It's a pretty cool feeling that even though I'm so far away they are right here, and will be shared with others everywhere. Do your best with what God has placed in your hands and he will give you the desires that he has placed in your heart. So is there anything that is in your hands you can give your best at, I know there is for me, It's time to get started.

This Would be Awesome

OK, so Im not even close to this yet bet it has always been a really cool thought and even a dream of mine growing up to be apart of a CRT or SWAT Team. I always had this thing when I was little to one day join the Marine's and Become one of the best, do Special Forces and that kind of stuff, I was always pushing myself and trying to climb the biggest mountain so to say. Well after 3 yrs out of the Marine Corps and finishing up school, I might finally get a crack at it. Thanks to my high speed, bad to the bone Brother in Law who goes by the code name the BULL, I might be working in Law Enforcement. It would be a real Honor and priveledge to serve with these men and many of whom have been long time friends. My Heart is still full time ministry but I have learned many things, ministry is where you are right now, and, be faithful with what God puts in your hands and he will give you the desires of your heart. I have all kinds of dreams to travel, preach all over the world about my Savior's Love, Pastor one day, and even live in Africa. But it is all in his timing, I just want to be as faithful with what he has placed in front of me now as I can be. So for now if I'm going to be a police officer I want to be the best I can and push myself as much as I can to be the top in that field as well. Also my beautiful Wife like's to see me in uniform so it's a plus. But it is a cool new turn in life and it is teaching me so many new things. God is awesome, I'm just glad he has more patience with me than I do myself, I love his grace. So wish me luck, and I'll keep ya posted on how thing's go.
